SUMMARY:Damon Terrell
DESCRIPTION:My music comes from within. A feeling\, an expression of life’s moments summed up into musical notes from me to you. I perform with the same passion as when I compose each piece whether its an original or a familar tune. \n\n\n\n\n I love to compose original compositions. I am able to pour out into musicial notes feelings of emotion and spiritual wellbeing.  I enjoy what I do and I do it with passion.  I know my gift is from God.  I discovered my interest of music early on but was not in position to venture into my talents until early adolescence.  As a kid growing up there wasn’t the finanaces available for musicial instruments just mainly for the necessities.  When opportunity approached\, my grandmother purchased my first electric guitar during my late teens. From that point I believe that God accelerated my skill and abilities to play beyond my years.  God has truly allowed me to play several instruments which also include piano\, bass and drums which allows me to compose all my own music.  It’s amazing what God can do. \nMy debut CD entitled “In My Life\,” received a Stellar Award \nnomination for “Best Inspirational Jazz Album.”  Plus\, Radio airplay across the United States and international CD sales in France\, Germany and Guam.  It also received a great review in the “New York Times.”  My single release “BLUE” which has more of a funk rock sound debuted in the top five and stayed at #1 for three months on Reverbnation’s funk chart.   I have a complete grand piano LP entitled “Spending Time with You.”  I wanted to not only showcase some of my other instrumental gifts but\, by playing the piano I wanted to create a relaxed peaceful atmosphere allowing fans to meditate\, read\, and just enjoy life. \nWhen I perform on stage\, I want people to feel the same passion and energy I feel.   With every performance I like to give people a visual of excitement that causes them to enjoy life alot more.  No matter the size of each show\, I love what I do and I play with every ounce in me.  I have been fortunate to showcase my talent on Television networks like Fox-2\, TCT and at large festivals like Soaring Eagle Arts\, Beats and Eats and Hart Plaza.  Plus airplay on various Jazz stations across the USA.   My passion for music is timeless.

SUMMARY:The Big 20's
DESCRIPTION:Djangophonique is a virtuosic\, instrumentally driven quartet led by guitar player Andrew Brown. With over a decade of national touring experience\, Brown is no stranger to the stage and delivers every performance with personality and enigmatic charm. A true disciple of the style\, Brown has spent countless hours immersing himself in the language of Django Reinhardt’s jazz manouche\, and he’s joined on stage by bandmates that match his skill and passion for the material. The result is a sound that’s unmistakable to fans of the music\, and alluring to the uninitiated—a sound that can bring the lively energy of a parisian dance hall to the quietest listening room or captivate a buzzing festival audience with a shimmering ballad. With respect for the tradition and a fearless creativity that bends the conventions of the style\, Djangophonique is keeping the Hot Club revival alive and well. \nAndrew Brown grew up in a house full of music. His father was a motown session musician playing with the likes of Chuck Berry and the Four Tops and his uncle was a world-class jazz bassist accompanying Art Blakey and Chet Baker among others. A steady stream of musicians passed through Brown’s childhood home\, leaving a rich sediment of musical interests and influences. Though he played his first show at 9\, penned a folk opera at 14\, was a member of several rock bands in high school and occasionally performed monologues by Lord Buckley\, it wasn’t until his early twenties that Andrew began performing professionally. \nAfter an inspiring trip to New Orleans in 2010 Andrew co-founded The Appleseed Collective\, with whom he would come to tour extensively. Appleseed played festivals and venues such as Wheatland\, Sisters Folk Festival\, The Ann Arbor Folk Festival\, The Ark\, Summercamp Music Festival\, Cervantes Ballroom and many more. In 2017 Appleseed began to slow it’s touring schedule and Andrew took the opportunity to deepen his studies of gypsy jazz\, seeking out and learning from authentic masters like Angelo Debarre\, Sebastian Gineaux\, and Gonzalo Bergara. Djangophonique played their first gig at the Blue Llama Jazz Club in Ann Arbor MI in 2019. \nThe core group of Djangophonique includes Tyler Rindo on clarinet\, Zach Croft on rhythm guitar\, and Jorian Olk-Szost on upright bass. However Djangophonique often appears in different incarnations thanks to Brown’s ever growing network of collaborators within the jazz world.
